Piroa Falls

Turn off SH1 onto Waipu Gorge Road at the bottom of the Northern side of the Brynderwyn Hills, and drive for about 6km until you see the sign for Piroa Falls on your right.

A 10 minute walk through native bush, down through a beautiful gorge and across the Ahuroa River brings you to the Falls.

There are a number of shallow swimming holes along the way, with a deep pool at the falls itself, great for cooling off after a day at the beach – and you can even swim under the waterfall!
