Camp 2 is the original Ruakaka Camp. In the middle of the last century campers came from far and wide to Ruakaka to camp and then the only access would be to cross the estuary at low tide and set up their tents in what is now Camp 2. No other camps existed. Today Camp 2 campers enjoy modernised facilities, not like those back then.
Today the camp has a main amenities block whcsh includes a kitchen, laundry, showers and toilets. There are also several small toilet and shower facilities close by.
A favourite with all the kids, young and old “The Jetty” where many a “kid” has enjoyed their summer holidays swimming and canoeing and just exploring the Ruakaka estuary. This is part of the original walking bridge to access the camp.
Camp 2 has a total of 41 powered sites which are suitable for both caravans and tents.
